This accessibility statement applies to the Pickleball Research website at pickleball-research.com.

Our Commitment

Riven Arc LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.

We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Conforming to these guidelines helps make the web a more inclusive experience for all users.

This accessibility statement forms an integral part of our Terms and Conditions.

Accessibility Features

We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility of Pickleball Research:

• Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy throughout all pages
• ARIA labels on interactive elements including navigation, buttons, and form controls
• Keyboard navigation support across the site — all interactive elements are focusable and operable via keyboard
• Skip-to-content link for keyboard users to bypass navigation
• High contrast dark theme as the default design, meeting WCAG AA contrast ratios for text
• Responsive design that supports zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
• Form inputs with associated labels for screen reader compatibility
• Focus indicators on interactive elements
• Alt text on informational images
• Error messages with role="alert" for screen reader announcement on login and signup forms

You should be able to:

• Navigate the entire site using only a keyboard
• Use the site with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
• Zoom in up to 200% in your browser without loss of content
• Use the site comfortably in the default dark mode theme
• Access all educational content without requiring mouse interaction

Conformance Status

Status: Partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

"Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to achieve full conformance.

We conducted our most recent accessibility evaluation in March 2026 using automated tools (Biome accessibility linting rules) and manual testing. For more information, see the Known Limitations section below.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not be fully accessible. Below is a description of known limitations we are actively working to address:

SVG Diagrams and Court Visualizations

Some SVG diagrams (court layouts, angle geometry visualizations, shot trajectory diagrams) may lack sufficient alternative text descriptions. These diagrams convey spatial relationships that are difficult to fully describe in text. We are working to add comprehensive descriptions.

Interactive Tools

The Paddle Builder (3D rotation, weight placement), Tactical Board (drawing tool), and Paddle Lab (drag sliders) rely on mouse/touch interactions that may have limited screen reader support. Core functionality is available via keyboard, but the full interactive experience may require a pointing device.

Data Visualizations

Color-coded radar charts, performance bars, and sweet spot indicators use color to convey information. While we include numeric values alongside colors, some visual patterns may not have complete text alternatives.

Third-Party Content

Some embedded content and third-party images (paddle product photos, player headshots sourced from PPA Tour) may not have alt text that we control. We provide paddle names and player names as context where possible.

We are actively working to address these issues as part of an ongoing plan to improve accessibility across the platform.

Evaluation Approach

Riven Arc LLC assessed the accessibility of Pickleball Research using the following approaches:

• Automated testing: Biome linter with accessibility rules (a11y/useButtonType, a11y/noStaticElementInteractions, a11y/useKeyWithClickEvents, a11y/noLabelWithoutControl) enforced via pre-commit hooks
• Manual testing: Keyboard-only navigation testing across all pages
• Screen reader testing: VoiceOver (macOS) on key user flows (signup, login, paddle search, drill browsing)
• Browser testing: Chrome, Safari, Firefox on desktop; Safari and Chrome on mobile

Preparation of This Statement

This statement was prepared on March 21, 2026 and is reviewed annually or when we make significant changes to the Services.

We maintain records of accessibility feedback and our responses for regulatory compliance.
